Two isolates of Auricularia species, A. polytricha and Auricularia species 1, were used. There was significant difference at P<O.05 of growth rates of Auricularia sp. on the different media. The fastest growth rate of both strains of the Auricularia sp. was on MEA. The optimum temperature for growth rate of Auricularia sp. was at 25°C. The growth rates were reduced as the temperature increased or decreased and no growth was shown at 40°C. There was significant effect of light on growth rate of Auricularia sp. The Auricularia sp. grew faster under light condition. Growth test of different pH showed that Auricularia sp. grew more active at pH 6.5 compared in media of other pH values. Media contain glucose, sucrose, carboxymethyl cellulose, fructose and lactose allowed good growth compared with media without carbon sources. Yeast and peptone for nitrogen sources provides faster growth compared with the other nitrogen sources. K2S04 and KN03 provide good mycelia growth for Auricularia sp. Different sources of magnesium and phosphate also showed significant effect on growth of Auricularia sp. No growth ofmushroom observed.
