Bird’s nest farmers are taking that opportunity to provide bird’s nest to the market. In order to increase the productivity of the bird nest harvesting, a suitable harvesting tool is needed to help the farmer to harvest bird’s nest with more efficient. The main objective of this project is to design and fabricate a device which is ergonomic to harvest bird’s nest. The project is focused on the design of the bird’s nest harvester in order to improve the traditional harvesting tool that is currently being used by bird’s nest farmers. The task needs to be carried out is to design a compact yet ergonomic bird’s nest harvester which can help to increase the efficiency of the bird’s nest harvesting process while keeping the design cost as low as possible. For the purpose of ease of designing, the Solid Works modelling drawings of the harvester are prepared. The project is to compare the required time to harvest bird’s nest for traditional harvesting tools and the designed harvesting tools. The designed harvester will be designed according to the parameters that suit the bird’s nest harvester such as the height, function and safety. The designed harvester will help the farmer to harvest walet bird’s nest efficiently with shortest amount of time and small energy required. The main output of the project is to reduce the required time to harvest the bird’s nest. By reducing the required time to harvest the bird’s nest, the harvesting process of bird’s nest can be done efficiently.
