P. macrocarpa usually grows in tropical areas, including the tropical forests. Moreover, P. macrocarpa is well-known to have medical properties to cure various diseases, especially cancer and diabetes. The mesocarp of the fruits could be used to treat these diseases. The objective of this study was to obtain additional informations on the morphological characteristics of the P. macrocarpa. Plus, another objectives were to record the information on the floral biology of the P. macrocarpa starting from the development of the flower bud to the formation of the fruit and seed, as well as the pollen characteristics. Thirty samples of the P. macrocarpa’s flowers were selected from the three plants for the study of floral biology. Their development from the buds to the fruits was observed and analysed. From the study, it can be concluded that the flowering to fruiting period of the P. macrocarpa was about 50 days. Since the mesocarp of the P. macrocarpa are used in the medicinal field, therefore it is important to determine the weight of the flesh. The estimated weight of the P. macrocarpa’s fruit mesocarp was 33.84 g. It showed that about 30 fruits were needed to produce 1 kg of the flesh.
