The latest solution to solve this problem is the implementation of RapidPenang in Penang. This study aims at looking into this aspect in detail and public transportation in Penang as well. The study is aimed at focusing on all daily Penang commuters who used RapidPenang and other public transportation in Penang. A total of 83 respondents participated in this study where questionnaire surveys were conducted. Self developed questionnaire with both open ended and close ended questions for collecting the relevant data about the effectiveness of RapidPenang in dealing the public transportation woes in Penang has been used to collect data relevant to the study. Focus group discussion was also used to identify the main factor of public transportation problem in Penang as well. The result has been encouraging with most of the results or findings showed that there is an improvement in public transportation in several aspects after RapidPenang was implemented. Most respondents (80%) of the study has indicated that there is an improvement from the previous public transportation since the implementation RapidPenang. However, RapidPenang is not perfect and still need to improve in a lot of aspects in order to improve public transportation in Penang. RapidPenang need changes in order to stay competitive and enable RapidPenang to provide the best services and effective public transportation system.
