The search was conducted using these two keywords, and 50,000 relevant word tokens were obtained. These two words have rich metaphorical meanings in Chinese, involving individual emotions, social status, environment, and problems. Further conceptual metaphor analysis reveals the abstract concepts implied by “脸face” and “面face”, which reflect the unique cultural cognition and value system in Chinese.
