This study is focused on the improvement of mechanical properties of recycles high density polyethylene (rHDPE) and recycles polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) and investigates their thermal properties. The rHDPE/rPET with different blends composition and compatibilizer employment was prepared by using co-rotating twin screw extruder. The polymer blends were then form in pellets then pressed using compression molding to produce board. The last stage is involved the use some of specimens recycle HDPE/PET blend to examine their mechanical properties , thermal stability and melting ehavior with the used, thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The composition 75/25 wt,wt% Rhdpe/Rpet blend show the optimum mechanical properties of uncompatibilized and compatibilized blend . For tensile test, there are shows the blend there are increasing 25% of tensile strength, 1.5% of tensile modulus and 55% of strain at break when presence of E-GMA). For flexural test there are increasing about 8.13% and 5.75% of flexural strength and flexural modulus respectively. While, thermal properties, the melting temperature for both uncompatibilized and compatibilized blend shows 20% wt% Rpet has highest melting temperature and thermal stability also increase with the incorporation of E-GMA. The result also revealed that there was good compatibility Rhdpe/Rpet with presence E-GMA lead to improvement in mechanical properties compare uncompatibilized Rhdpe/Rpet. 2022-11-15T01:00:01Z 2022-11-15T01:00:01Z 2017-04 Other http://dspace.unimap.edu.my:80/xmlui/handle/123456789/76961 en Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP)
