A kitchen stove, cooker or cook stove is a kitchen appliance designed for the purpose of cooking food. Kitchen stoves rely on the application of direct heat for the cooking process and may also contain an oven, used for baking. In the market, there are many types and designs for the gas regulator. The gas regulators usually located at the gas tank. For the safety purpose, the gas tank is hidden from the gas stove, so it is hard to realize when the gas tank should be replaced. Sometimes some users didn’t use the gas indicator and they should shake the gas tank to know the balance of the gas. The emptiness of the gas will just be realized when the ignition colour of the flame will turn to yellowish colored indicating the gas cylinder is near to empty. This research is to study the solution to overcome that problem by designing of a gas pressure gauge/indicator for kitchen gas stove. The product is a tool to indicate the level of the gas pressure in the LPG gas tank. The gauge is located on the gas stove panel which helps user when they should replace the empty tank with the new gas cylinder before emptied. This research act as a driving force to develop a design of a gas pressure gauge/indicator for kitchen gas stove in terms of its location. The major concern in this experiment is the capacity indication of the gas cylinder. A conclusion have been made, which pressure gauge is not a device to indicate the capacity of the gas cylinder if it is located in front of the stove. On the other hand, the pressure gauge can be replaced by flow meter. By using the flow meter, the consumer able to directly measure the content of the gas cylinder and able to prepare a new gas cylinder. 2008-10-13T04:19:55Z 2008-10-13T04:19:55Z 2008-04 Learning Object http://hdl.handle.net/123456789/2386 en Universiti Malaysia Perlis School of Manufacturing Engineering
