Along with this study, we also decided to determine the relationship between ovulation phases and the mean body temperature and salivary pH. This cross-sectional study involved female medical students in UniKL-RCMP aged 19 to years old. By using SPSS statistic version 17.0, the sample size was calculated to be 100 students with 95% confident level. The sampling was randomly selected. A set of questionnaire was given to the students to be answered and their body temperatures were measured. At the same time, their saliva was collected and their pH were measured. All the information given about their menstual cycle was then computed as the variables of this study. Analysis was done in SPSS 17.0 using appropriate statistical test, p<0.05 was considered as significant. From 100 female, 70 of them were not in menstrual period (70%), while 30 (30%) were in menstrual period. From the same data, 6 of them are in ovulation phase while 94 of them are in non-ovulation phase. The mean body temperature during ovulation phase compared to non-ovulation phase is statistically significant (p=0.022 < 0.05) where the former is higher than the latter. However, our investigation observed no significant relationship between ovulation phase and salivary pH. The relationship between uterine cycle with body temperature and salivary pH was also found to be not sinificant. 2014-12-16T08:00:48Z 2014-12-16T08:00:48Z 2014 Article APA http://localhost/xmlui/handle/123456789/9012 en XCDSystem |
