Description
Summary:On 5 June 2015, Sabah was rocked by an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 on the Richter scale, which caused a number of lives and property to be lost. This phenomenon also causes physical changes to the earth's surface, resulting in an increasing frequency of floods in Kota Belud. The impact of the frequency of these floods has an impact on the socio-economics of the residents in the district from the aspects of income, business, trauma, communication infrastructure is affected and also the residence of the residents themselves who are victims of these floods. This study aims to identify the impact of the flood frequency on the residents of Kota Belud district by distributing questionnaires in addition to visiting the village areas that are always affected by floods. Overall, the data analysis is using the Spatial Analysis (Arcgis) method to detect villages that have socio-economic effects and the results of the questionnaire analysis will be used to support the findings of the GIS analysis. This paper can be concluded that there is a relationship between the occurrence of flood frequency and its implications for the residents of the villages in Kota Belud. This situation will be able to give a broader picture even though the socio-economic impact of this population cannot be seen with the naked eye from various parties.
