However, lighting does deter crime and makes people feel more secure. This project is aimed to design a dual-functional system that acts as a low-cost home security system and garden lights controller. The main control system utilizes Motorola MC6811HCA1 as it offers good energy management and better efficiency. The system is equipped with light sensor to measure darkness level, infrared sensors to detect movement within the vicinity, a digital clock to manually control the main system and an interface circuit that enable the system to control the main power. The system program will be simulated using THRsim11 before being implemented into the hardware and tested for functionality. It is found that the system can effectively function as a home security system as well as a garden lighting controller. -Author 2007-11 Undergraduates Project Papers NonPeerReviewed pdf en http://umpir.ump.edu.my/id/eprint/354/1/33.AUTONOMOUS%20LIGHTING%20AND%20SECURITY%20SYSTEMS.pdf Engku Mohd Amri, Engku Ariff (2007) Autonomous lighting and security system.
