Summary: | We developed green chemical synthesis of alkyl lactates from triose by using Aluminium-exchanged montmorillonite (Al3+-mont) as a solid acid catalyst. The Al3+-mont catalyzed triose transformation efficiently to afford high yield and selectivity of alkyl lactates.
