Summary: | The study was conducted to investigate about the hot spring occurrence at Pos Hendrop, Lojing, Gua Musang, Kelantan. Geological mapping and 2D resistivity method were carried out for this study. Five survey lines using Schlumberger and Wenner array were arranged across the existing main vent. The length of each survey line varies from 40 metre to 160 metre. By geological mapping, the type of rock associated with hot spring occurrence was found out which is granite. The 2D resistivity inversion models on the other hand show that the study area consists of saturated bodies with water, sediment and bedrock. These bodies are represented by different resistivity value, range from the lowest, medium reading and the highest reading. The lowest resistivity reading in each inversion model is expected to be hot spring. From all the five resistivity inversion model, the hot water flow might originated from the north part. Probably, the depth of thermal energy is around fifteen metre from ground. |
