In this study, rice husk for the production of bioethanol was investigated. Rice husk was treated with alkali pretreatment to study the effect of pretreatment. Structural change for both untreated and NaOH-treated were investigated using XRD. Bioethanol production was detected by HPLC. It was found that, NaOH-treated rice husk has a higher crystallinity than untreated rice husk with the percentage of 32.9% and 31.8% respectively.
