This study was carried out to detennine the effectiveness of B. areolata against A. hydrophila which tends to be a serious threat to the aquaculture and human health as well. Two different extraction solvents were used; ethanol and methanol to extract the homogeneous body of B. arealata and the antimicrobial activity was canied out by using agar well diffusion method. The bacterial pathogen was showed maximum susceptibility inhibition zone, ll.67±l.53 mm against ethanol extract of B. areolata compared to inhibition zone of methanol extract, 8.67±1.15 mm. The finding showed that the gastropod species are rich in antimicrobial properties when react against isolated microbes. Further studies need to be conducted to investigate the full structural component of antimicrobial compound derived from marine molluscs. The result obtained can be used as a guideline for further research in this field at the future. 2016 Undergraduate Final Project Report NonPeerReviewed Aimi Ayuni Mat Nawi (2016) Antimicrobial activity of babylonia arealata.
