Description
Summary:Geological research include lithology, geological structure, geomorphology, and petrography in Dabong, Kuala Krai, Kelantan located at coordinate 101 °20'E to102°41'E and 4°33'N to 6°14'N. The objectives of this research are updating the current geological map of the area, to detect and identify the potential groundwater between metamorphic areas and carbonate area using resistivity method. By using the resistivity method at Dabong, Kuala Krai, Kelantan for detect the potential groundwater sources at accurate location and depth can determine the geology condition of that area can he interpreted. To begin this analysis, two horizontal lines were chosen which were metamorphic area and limestone area for collect the resistivity data from ABEM Terrameter SAS 4000, Electric Selector (ES464) and LUND cable with electrode. Then, the data was analyzed using the RES2D software and the results of the analysis were represented in 2-dimensional image. The Schlumberger array was used to show that the both lines at the area are potential to produce groundwater sources with reading 1.58 to 28.5Ω at depth 13.4 meter to 31.3 meter in metamorphic area while resistivity reading in limestone area is 4.97 to 26.2Ωm an at depth 1.25 meter to 17.3 meter. After carried out this research, all objective has been passed. The geological map of study area has been update based on lithology found. Groundwater potential also was detected at metamorphic area and limestone area using resistivity method.
