Insects were collected from pseudostem, soil and inflorescence by active collecting, pitfall trap and sticky trap respectively. A total of 3,525 individual insects were collected from 61 families and 9 orders. Of these 9 orders, Orthoptera, Hymenoptera and Diptera had the highest number of individual insects on psudostem, soil and inflorescence respectively. Total number of individual insects collected at the three traps were 1438, 1148 and 939 respectively. Among the insects collected, there were also a number of pest found within the banana farm. There was significant difference (p < 0.05) at insect biodiversity on pseudostem, soil and inflorescence within the banana farm. Hypothesis indicates that there are equal distributions of fauna biodiversity on pseudostem, soil and inflorescence was rejected. 2014 Undergraduate Final Project Report NonPeerReviewed Tan, Chiew Fen (2014) Insect fauna biodiversity in banana farm.
