Description
Summary:This research covered two part of studies : i)Sarawak Basin was formed from the result of NW-SE trending right lateral fault movement during late Oligocene to Pliocene times. The Central Luconia is a part of Sarawak basin that located at the offshore of Sarawak (Malaysia) which is well known as a profilic carbonate area with large hydrocarbon reserves. The area is underlain by carbonate from Middle Miocene to Holocene of siliclastic which will be studied by using seismic stratigraphy method. Majority of the deposition sequence is related to the cycle of the regional and global changes of sea level. The most effective tools for applying sequences concept is seismic reflection method. The identification on 2 seismic section across the study area has been conducted and there's about seven sequence boundary have been recognized. Each sequence boundaries will be described base on their characteristic. ii) Geological Mapping has been done in Tadoh River,Kampung Kalai,Kelantan. The purpose of this research is to study study area. The lithology that found are marble, the general geology of the tonalite and andesite which then will be used in petrographic analysis.
