Summary: | This study about Schismatoglottis as the species of interest in this study. Four Schismatoglottis species were chosen in the study, as follows: Schismatoglottis wallichii, Schismatoglottis scortechinii, Schismatoglottis calyptrata and Schismatoglottis brevicuspis. Six parameters were assessed in the study; distance from trail, distant from water source, soil type, canopy openness, vegetative surrounding and geographical features. Five study areas have been chosen for study; Bukit Bakar, Jeram Pasu, Kuala Koh, Jeram Linang and Jeram Mengaji. S wallichii can survive living futher away from source, living under deep shade area and also manage to tolerate disturbance. S. scortechinii requires sufficient water moist to survive and can survive from moderate shade to deep shade area. It can also tolerate disturbance. S. calyptrata can be found close water source, under moderate shade and moderate range from the trail. S. brevicuspis can commonly be found under the deep shade, not well tolerated to disturbance and close to the water source. |
