Description
Summary:A study was conducted to find out the cluster distribution of Rafflesia, identify the species and investigate its conservation status. This study comprise of cluster mapping method, identification of species based on morphological variation and construction of dichotomous key for every taxonomy. The optimum size of diameter of Tetrastigma or also known as host-plant Rafflesia is recorded between 11 cm to 15 cm. There was one taxonomy discovered in the study areas which are Rafflesia Kerrii. There are significant difference with sex ratio of total of flower bloom which male flower are more compared to the female flower that are bloom on that month in the site erea which is Sungai Dukong, Lojing Highlands, Kelantan. Same goes to the flower that are already rotten that found in that month which male flower are high in number compared to the famale flower that has already rotten. Based on the study that done by that month, the researches has discovered that female flower is bigger than the male flower. The number of processes of Rafflesia Kerrii in Sungai Dukong, Lojing Highlands, Kelantan is mostly the same between 35-50. As a whole, Lojing Highlands, Kelantan has active cluster status with three flower are found during the study and also found average four to five flower that has already rotten in each area during the study. Based on the Rafflesia area that has been plot using Global Positioning System (GPS), all the distribution of the flower is outside the compartment which means that the place does not been gazette yet by state. More information and education about Rafflesia and its potential to eco-tourism should be given to local people to ensure the success of conservation.
