The district main area is Kuala Krai town Kuala Krai is the second largest district in Kelantan after Gua Musang. Kuala Krai has a relatively high population density in Kelantan and there are three main districts in this region, Batu Mengkebang, Olak Jeram and Dabong. Most of the people in the district of Kuala Krai are engaged in various government and private sectors. Some also do cultivate plants and plantations. Kuala Krai expanded rapidly after the Kuala Krai-Gua Musang highway opened in August 1983 which is the route to Kuala Lumpur from Kota Bharu. The two main rivers, the Galas River and the Lebir River, met on the Kelantan River in Kuala Krai town. There is a railway station connecting Tumpat to Gua Musang. The purpose of this research study was to produce a geological map of the study area, to research the geomorphological constraint around Kuala Krai town which could be a barrier in development and the limits and opportunities for Kuala Krai Town to further develop. Various methods used include geological mapping in identifying geomorphology of Kuala Krai. Overall, Kuala Krai Town comprises a flat land formed from sedimentary rocks. The town of Kuala Krai is suitable for moderate and inefficient development due to the high geotechnical limitations in this area due to the lack of dense soil type. 2018 Undergraduate Final Project Report NonPeerReviewed Muhammad Fauzzi Kamaruzaman (2018) Geology and geomorphological constrains of town development in Bandar Kuala Krai, Kuala Krai, Kelantan.
