Description
Summary:The study on biocomposite based on citric acid modified starch as the binder filled with kenaf fiber with and without maleated polypropylene (MAPP) was successfully conducted. The effect of MAPP as a coupling agent for kenaf fiber biocomposite are observed. In this study, glycerol ,sodium hydroxide , citric acid , maleated polypropylene (MAPP) were used. Thus, three sample were produced and undergo some characterization through X-Ray Diffraction and Fourier-transform Infrared Spectroscopy .The moulding processes started when the mixture is filled into the mould and it is compacted until it successfully fulfilled the mould. Mechanical and physical properties of biocomposite were evaluated of CAMS with and without MAPP. However, biocomposite with 1 % MAPP have high value of tensile and bending properties compared to biocomposite without MAPP and with 2 % MAPP .
