| Summary: | Waste is one of the major serious environmental issues in all over the world. Improper waste management will result in adverse health effects such as diarrhea, cholera, and chicken pox, etc. This study was conducted to identify the factors that influence the practices on waste management among UMK Jeli students and also to determine the relationship between those factors towards practices on waste management taken by students in UMK Jeli. This cross-sectional study was conducted using systematic and well-designed questionnaire. Out of 2500 UMK Jeli students, only 300 were selected. The data was analyzed using Spearman's Rank Correlation. The results show a significant relationship between attitude and practices and indicate a high confidence which is very small than 0.01 (r=0.233, n=300, p=0.000), in the correlation between attitude and practices. This study indicates that more efforts are needed to enhance the knowledge and awareness on waste management among UMK Jeli students. |
