Investigation on the suitability of polyaniline(Pani) based composite phase change material for low concentration photovoltaic thermal application
A global shift towards renewable energy, especially solar energy is happening. One of the limitations of solar energy is its stochastic nature of energy. Phase change material is a promising solution to this challenge. In this study, A70 PLUSICE phase change material with melting temperature in the...

Phase change material is a promising solution to this challenge. In this study, A70 PLUSICE phase change material with melting temperature in the range of 700C is analyzed for thermal energy storage capability for Low Concentrated Photovoltaic Thermal Application. Pure A70 and nano composite A70 with Polyaniline (PANI) with 0.1% wt is evaluated for this study. The Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) was performed to evaluate the functional groups. The thermal stability of the Pure A70 and nanocomposite were evaluated using Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA). The heat storage behavior of the samples was investigated, and their melting temperature and latent heat were determined using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The FTIR results showed the absence of new compounds. The TGA analysis proves Pure A70 and nanocomposite are thermally stable in the temperature region of 300C to 2500C with no weight loss, hence showing suitability for low concentration photovoltaic thermal system. © 2019 SERSC.
