Extant studies have used absorptive capacity to measure acquiring and exploiting knowledge and tested its relationship with firm innovation performance. However, the results are mixed. A need to separate the acquiring and exploiting knowledge is essential. Based on data collected from 156 Malaysian firms, this study has measured the absorptive capacity by using two constructs, which are quality of information and change willingness and tested its relationship with firm’s product innovation.
