| Summary: | This course aims to equip students with fundamental knowledge of sociolinguistics particularly the theories and concepts related to language, society and power. Students will learn how to examine sociolinguistics issues by taking into considerations social, political, historical and economic factors of the speech community. Students will also be exposed to research methodologies and analysis methods which help to develop their interest in sociolinguistics inquiry. |
