Description
Summary:This course prepares students with the knowledge of literature particularly in Malay prose. A writer should have a concrete root of writing knowledge to shape their identity, which will later reflect in their creative work. This course helps to prepare students in becoming resourceful and proficient writer. Through this course, students will be able to acquire and practice methods of literary, while at the same time maintaining their Malay ethnicity and identity through the texts they studied. Furthermore, the students will learn to identify the relationship between literature and its social context. Most importantly, they will learn the importance of literature and art as they relate to their socio-cultural context and to their “universal” appeal. With all the knowledge and skills obtained from this course, the students will be able to work effectively in creative industry and produced a high-quality work of art and at the same time continuously maintaining their identity as Malaysian.
