Description
Summary:There are several issues and problems pertaining to the establishment and operation of the Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB). There were groups of people who openly expressed their worries about the viability of Islamic Banking in a secular environment. The comments brought forward in this paper against BIMB, does not intend to underestimate the bank, no malice intended. It is also important to note that whatever issues raised throughout the discussions are not intended to cause dissatisfaction to anybody. The criticism, on the other hand, intends to help the bank to achieve a real status of an Islamic Bank and to be established as other commercial banks in the country. It is rather to provoke some thoughtful discussions to enable us to exchange ideas or opinions in our effort to find the most practical method to attain our aspirations.
