| Summary: | In accordance with the academic schedule, an industrial training programme is the final requirement for all undergraduate students. Each student must undergo an on the-job training in areas related to their studies and field of specialisation. Together with the guidance of this supervised programme, students have the opportunity to acquire practical work experience, professional abilities and a sense of responsibility in executing the duties entrusted to them by their line of work, resulting in positive task-related understanding and expertise. Apart from that, it allows students to put forward creative viewpoints and make beneficial contributions. I did a six-month training at Vista Summerose Sdn Bhd in the Marketing Department, which was the start of an eye-opening and educational experience. The organisation has long been involved in the parking industry, facilitated by local municipalities to improve traffic management and achieve Smart City standards. Considering the key objective of the industrial training programme is to acquire skills through a handson experience, it is important to apply the insights we learned in real-world situations. The purpose of this report is to provide an overview of the outcome and discoveries that I encountered, while taking part in the organisation's activities. I will also go into detail regarding the services it provides and how it has built a name in the on-street parking industry. In addition, I intend to highlight the regions of Malaysia where it is currently operating and a precise description of the organisation’s identity that includes information on its background, organisational framework and objectives. A training reflection is contained in this report as well, detailing what was expected of me and the aspects I got during my time as an intern. Along with discussion and recommendations, I have added a SWOT analysis, which is used to evaluate the organisation’s competitive edge for potential improvements. |
