Description
Summary:On June 25th, 2023, a colleague and I embarked on an academic visit to historical attractions in Penang with a group of students from the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management, UiTM Permatang Pauh, Pulau Pinang. The academic trip consisted of 41 students from the Diploma in Culinary Arts and the Diploma in Food Service Management. Upon our arrival, we were cordially greeted by the tour guide, Mr. Zaini. He commenced the tour by providing us with an in-depth overview of the ancient history of Fort Cornwallis. He was delighted to be able to share his knowledge and history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Georgetown, Penang. Additionally, students learned about the struggles faced by historical leaders and the weapons used during those eras, as well as having the opportunity to view the biggest and most well-known cannon named Seri Rambai.
