Description
Summary:Muslim individuals and Muslim-owned businesses have been involved in investment and share trading, resulting in the zakat on shares dispute in Malaysia. Muslims are still uncertain about how to compute share zakat because it is a current issue involving transactions and various stakeholders, making it difficult for Muslims to pay zakat. As a result, the goal of this study is to establish the level of zakat awareness among university students in Kedah. It is critical for students to learn about and comprehend zakat on shares. The principle of Zakat is not just to purify one's money and soul, but also to uplift the impoverished, assist those in need, and comfort those in need. This study used a qualitative approach, with university students in Alor Setar, Kedah, being questioned to determine their level of comprehension about share zakat. To acquire study outcomes, these data were analysed and reviewed. This study is intended to assess and suggest improvements for any zakat institution or educational institution in providing zakat exposure to students and Muslims in general.
