Summary:This study is aimed to investigate the safety management during the conservation works. The conservation works is inherently dangerous and injuries are more likely to occur. It is appropriate to consider the conservation works is inherently dangerous if no proactive steps are taken to improve the work conditions and to ensure that the work is undertaken in a safe manner. In this study, the safety element during the conservations works will explain more on principles of safety management. A safety management system means there is a proper managing structure in place, managed by people and backed by activities, documents, procedures, etc. However, to ensure its development, the most important component is the organization or body of people assigned to manage the system. Although the risk at the conservation site is not critical as the new project, but the organization should be aware of the site safety. The study is mainly focus on the following, to identify the health and safety level of site and office management in the planning and control of safety process during the conservations works, to investigate the problems and issues in managing the conservations works of heritage project and to recommend the best practice in safety and health for conservations works.
