Summary:Environment is the foundation of the sustainability of the concept city. There are a few of elements of environment that can be identified, and the most plentiful element of the environment is water. It goes without saying that water is the main sources on earth as 70% of the earth surface is covered by the ocean and 30% is the land. Water is crucial because it is used in the daily basis, such as for food production, for washing, for cooking, for plants and animals. Evidently if there is no water resources on earth the impact will affect all living things as human and animals alike are unable to sustain without water, and thus clean water is vital for all to continue life. However, one of the most serious issues that always made the news headlines now is water pollution that has been happening in Malaysia. Sungai Pinang has been Sungai Pinang is surrounded by a rapidly developed environment such as housing, industrial and commercial which can be a factor that contributor to water pollution. Thus, this study will focus on the water pollution problems at Sungai Pinang, Penang.
