It aims to identify the influence of knowledge on financial management practices and student competence in shaping the daily expenses of each student according to the specified demographic terms. A total of 100 students consisting of students from semester one to semester five were selected as respondents in this study. The questionnaire set contains 23 items consisting of 3 parts, namely Part A, B, and C as the research instrument. Part A consists of the background of the respondents, part B consists of 10 items that test the level of student financial management practices and part C covers 10 items to test the level of student financial management competencies at ILKKM, Johor Bahru. The study data collected were analysed descriptively to obtain frequency, percentage and mean values using software "Statistical Package for the Social Sciences for Windows version 16.0 (SPSS Windows 16.0)". In addition, the study used reliability analysis, significant parameter (T-test) analysis, ANOV A and correlation analysis. Overall, the findings of the study showed that the level of financial management practices and the level of financial management competencies of students are still below the moderate level and need to be improved. At the end of the study, the researcher submitted some suggestions to various parties in providing exposure and education on financial management practices and effective financial management competencies among students.
