Description
Summary:Noise is defined as unwanted sound The noise problem resulted as a result of population growth, urbanization and technological developments. Noise pollution is a never-ending issue in many countries. The research conducted is to determine whether the law is sufficient to control the noise pollution caused by motor vehicle. Besides, the study also conducted to find out whether there is a clear division of powers or overlapping of jurisdictions among the authorities. Furthermore, it also provides recommendations for the betterment of the law. Data and information of this research were gathered from library, internet databases, and interview. Findings showed that the law is not enforced accordingly based on the statistics gathered from Department of Environment which reveal that there is a lack of enforcement in testing motor vehicles' noise level. Therefore, the law must be kept up to date to ensure it is effective and efficient in curbing noise pollution in Malaysia.
