Summary: | Ventilation is the process to maintain comfort of temperature, humidity and oxygen in a building with air flow from one space to another space. This process should be continuous with new air taken from a clean sources. Ventilation can also control indoor humidity in a building and airbone contaminants in a space. Sources of airbone contaminants can be devided into two types which is indoor contaminants and outdoor contaminants. Indoor contaminants is include chemical used in building construction or renovation. Outdoor contaminants is outdoor particulates occurs when the heating or cooling system draw air into building or space. Space management can be defined as a process projecting space requirement, identifying deficiencies and allocating available space to user in monitoring use, assisting user with space usage problem and revolving space problem. With space management, space allocation of the building will be organized and unneeded space can be remove. This dissertation has included with six chapters that discus about the ventilation system and space allocation in cafeteria in private higher institutional building. Case study selected is cafeteria in University Industry Selangor (UNISEL), Management and Science University (MSU) and Sime Darby Nursing and Health Science College (Sime Darby College) and SEGI University College (SEGI College). Analysis for this dissertation has analysis data from questionnaire and observation to get the finding about the ventilation system and space allocation. In conclusion, it has contributed with the recommendation to improve the mechanical ventilation system and space allocation in private higher institutional cafeteria. |
