Summary: | This study are conducted in UiTM Jengka Education Forest (UiTM JEF) at Base Line: line 11-20. The main objective of this study are to determine the distribution of Red Meranti group, Meranti Tembaga (S leprosula), Meranti Sarang punai (S. parvifolia), Meranti Nemesu (S pauciflora) in UiTM JEF. The method of study used is measure the trees 10m right and left along the line. The length each of line is 575 m, that means the forest areas that we studied for line 11-20 are 20 m x 575 m. The Red Meranti species has been found is categorized based on range diameter breast height (DBH) more than 5 cm and above. The range of DBH was classified into five, Class 1: 5.0-14.9 cm, Class 2: 15-24.9 cm, Class 3: 25-34.9 cm, Class 4: 35-44.9 cm, and lastly Class 5: >45 cm. In this study, the total number selected of Red Meranti species was found is 84 individuals; 64 for S leprosula, 17 for S parvifolia and 3 for S pauciflora. The geographical area is the one factor that contributes the distribution of that species. |
