Prayer involves of process which start from cleansing of body, ablution and proper clothing before the actual prayer. Prayer also involves physical movement, concentration and recitation that can be difficult for patients who are having illness. (AL-Obaidi) The degree of difficulties varies according to the stage and type of disease, and before and after the treatment. The degree of difficulties can be measure objectively by using tools such as the self-report questionnaire. Some measurement scores are limited to specific joint, certain part of the body or on specific disease.(Binkley) The prayer movement involves nearly all the joints in the upper limb, lower limb and the spine. Most of the functional assessments scoring assess the patient’s ability to perform the activity of daily living like standing, walking, sitting, squatting, jumping and running. Some treatments such as knee arthroplasty resulted in improvement in function but result in more disability in prayers which require the extreme knee and hip movement. The Islamic prayer ability scale (IPBAS) was developed to assess the ability of the patients to perform prayer by using 3 scale (1- independent, 2- requiring assistance, 3-totally dependent). However, during prayers, the Muslim patients are required to perform the prayers by themselves without any assistance. (Margolis). Furthermore, their scale is for the use of geriatric patient. The questionnaire is easy to administer and score and applicable to wide range of patients. Our goal is to develop a self-report generic measure that would yield reliable and valid measurements that will be use to assess patients ability to perform prayers during their illness. 2020 Copyright NonPeerReviewed application/pdf en http://irep.iium.edu.my/88644/1/Copyright_Skala%20Kepuasan%20Kemudahan%20Beribadat.pdf Musa, Ramli (2020) Skala kepuasan kemudahan beribadat & solat di hospital.
