Summary:The adoption of next-generation solar panels in urban areas holds significant potential for sustainable energy solutions and for mitigating climate change. This study aims to identify the determinants influencing both the adoption and performance of advanced solar technologies in urban settings. A survey was conducted with 436 households and commercial building owners in five major urban centers, using stratified random sampling for a representative sample. A quantitative research design was employed with data collected via structured questionnaires. SmartPLS (Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling) was used to analyze the data and assess complex relationships between multiple variables. The study finds that socio economic factors, environmental awareness, perceived benefits, and technological attributes significantly influence the adoption and performance of next-generation solar panels. Higher income levels, greater environmental awareness, and positive perceptions of technological benefits are significant predictors of both adoption and performance. The research suggests that targeted policy interventions and awareness campaigns can enhance the adoption and efficiency of solar technologies in urban environments. Policymakers should design targeted subsidies and educational programs addressing socio economic and environmental factors. Industry stakeholders should focus on developing and marketing efficient solar technologies that emphasize long-term benefits. By understanding these key determinants, stakeholders can better promote the use of advanced solar panels, supporting sustainable urban development and energy efficiency initiatives.
