Description
Summary:The Taḥfīẓ al-Qurʾān Certificate Programme (TACP) is a special collaboration between the Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) and the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Since its inception in 2000, more than two thousand students have graduated from the programme. The previous study only looked at their performance at the Darul Quran. But no single study has been carried out to explore the issues and challenges these students face when pursuing their foundation studies in IIUM after finishing their TACP program. A focus-group discussion (FGD) was conducted to address this gap on six TACP students. Several challenges were identified from the discussion and a few solutions are proposed to address those challenges.
