Description
Summary:Ethics, science, and policy are three different worlds, but they must collaborate closely to address the wicked problems of our age. Today we face various ethical challenges in the field of sciences and technology which cannot be solved without holistic ethical science guidelines and policies. This handbook puts together the guiding principles and discussions related to Islamic ethical science policy for Malaysian Muslim Majority countries and other Muslim countries worldwide. Indeed, it should not just approach the Muslim countries rather the guidance of Islam brings mercy to the whole world, “rahmatan lil ‘alamin”. It is not only for Muslims but for the whole of mankind. This is our world that we should protect and preserve together. This study is funded by the Trans-disciplinary Research Grant Scheme (TRGS), TRGS/1 /2018/UIAM/01/1/2, Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia. The authors would like to thank the ministry for generously funding the research. We pray to Allah and request the readers to endorse this prayer wholeheartedly, that may this book fulfil the objective it has been written with. May it prove the people a source of guidance to have a good and harmonious life with all beings on earth, and for us, the researchers, something which might be some help to us in the Afterlife, amin.
