Summary: | This book is a compilation of eleven contemporary studies conducted by scholars from diverse backgrounds who gathered during the International Conference on Religion, Governance and Sustainable Development (ICRGD 2019). This book aims to explore the relationship between three vital themes which are religion, governance and sustainability and their interplay within the Muslim communities. Each chapter examines obstacles and opportunities in the context of current social issues that the public is exposed to such as the financial literacy of Malaysians, the causes of disciplinary issues among school students in Malaysia, the reactions of important parties against violence faced by Muslim minorities in Myanmar, contemporary reality associated with religion and the concept of civilization in the current world. Each chapter observes different social issues to educate readers on the essence of Shari'ah when it comes to governance and sustainable or long-term development. Readers are also provided with the Islamic viewpoint of approaches that can be utilized to tackle contemporary concerns in the future. AbdulHamid AbuSulayman Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (AHAS KIRKHS) at the International Islamic University Malaysia is the proud sponsor of this book as the kulliyyah believes in providing a medium for researchers to reflect their dedication to constructing suggestions that can assist current and future generations in overcoming dire challenges they face. |
