Description
Summary:The aim of the current study is to characterize the adhesion bonding of intumenscent coating on steel substrate with respect to its mechanical, phisycal and chemical properties, before and after a fire test. Carbon steel was used as the substrate material and its surface was sand blasted to ensure strong bodning between the steel substrate and the intumescent coating. A primer coating was applied on the steel substrate prior to applying the intumescent to further strengthen the bonding. The coated steel substrates were subjected to fire in a furnace.
