Description
Summary:Several studies have assessed the hydrological effects of bioretention at the site level. Besides, few have examined the role played by bioretention when it is distributed through a watershed. Stormwater runoff has been identified as one of the factors that affect the surface runoff in urban watershed. In addition, this also resulted in increasing the rate of impervious area and caused extreme flooding in Malaysia. Bioretention system is known as one of the best management practices methods to reduce the problem. The objective of this study is to investigate the impact of urban watershed to hydrological performance with the presence of bioretention system in term of the peak flow, runoff coefficient, and the different by having storage facilities and without storage facilities. Furthermore, this study will also evaluate the effectiveness of bioretention system in order to reduce the stormwater runoff in three different condition which are pre-development, post development without BMPs and Post development with BMPs.
