Summary: | Unconventional oil likeheavyoils seems like a solutionto the growing demand of petroleum supply since the depletion of conventional oil production. Unfortunately, the presence of heavy metals in heavy oils(nickel and vanadium in the form of porphyrin) cause problem in upgrading process. During the upgrading of heavy oils, the metals tend to accumulate during distillation, and will cause defect to the wall of furnace and poisoning the catalyst. This work proposed the use of subcritical toluene assisted thermally stable ionic liquid to extract metal porphyrins from heavy oil model. |
