CONDITION MONITORING OF EQUIPMENT VIA INDUSTRIAL WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK (IWSN)

Condition monitoring system allows device and equipment to work well under any circumstance. Thus, the system is able to gather information that determine behavior of equipment is performing and use data obtained for further analysis. Thus, the system is able to gather information that determine behavior of equipment is performing and use data obtained for further analysis. The system is using industrial wireless sensor network as a tool to collect the information and visualize it to the user through phone application and computer. There are some industrial communication standards that are well-known in oil platforms and industrial plants such as WirelessHART and ISA100.11a. However, they have some limitations in term of cost, scalability and the capability of the technology. A motor is used to feed the purpose of this project which to monitor the condition of the motor using wireless sensors. To develop this system, it requires three components such as router, coordinator and computer. Temperature and accelerometer sensors will send the information regarding the motor to a coordinator which acts as a bridge between computer and the sensors. Afterwards, the data from the microcontroller will be sent to IOT platform to perform analysis of the motor. From the reading obtained, the user can plan the maintenance schedule ahead to prevent machine or plant interruption.
