Description
Summary:This project mainly focuses on developing a discrete event simulation for continuous manufacturing process of ethanolamine. Thus, an industrial ethanolamine production plant has been simulated and optimized. Data from the SRI (Stanford Research Institute) database has been used due to insufficient data about ethanolamine production plant. Basically, this paper was done to identify the variation of different production rate of ethanolamine and identify the possible bottleneck that may occur throughout the processing line. Besides, this project was done by using a computer aided simulation software named Flexsim. This software is chosen for this project as it has various options and settings. The parameters that was used in this project was standardised and it is stated in the results section. Furthermore, the results which was obtained by Flexsim software was compared and validated to SRI (Stanford Research Institute) data and results.
