Among these, ionic liquids emerged as the best potential to separate CO2 and are currently being studied. This method can still be improved to obtain a better CO2 separation capacity. This project aims to develop ionic liquids monomer as it then synthesized to become polymer ionic liquids incorporating activated carbon. Two types of polymer Ionic liquids were synthesized, which are Poly-(1-Vinyl-3-Ethylimidazolium Bromide), Poly-[Veim][Br] and Poly-(1-Vinyl-3-ethylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide), Poly-[Veim][TF2N].
