Electronics Nuclear engineering These recent years, wireless sensor network (WSN) not only seek attention from the researchers but among the industrial also. This project is aim to study the impact of mobility on topology control. In the previous works, during the designing stage of the topology control, the sensor network is assumed to be static but in the real application the sensor network can be mobile. Topology control is important in the WSN since this method used to achieve energy conservation and prolong network lifetime without affecting important network performance such as connectivity and throughput. The scopes of study for this project are to study the topology control techniques such as power aware connected dominating set (PACDS) [8] and energy efficient connected dominating set (ECDS) [9], to survey the mobility model such as random waypoint and linear mobility, to implement the topology control techniques and lastly to conduct performance analysis on the implemented on topology techniques with the mobility. The simulation tool that has been used in this investigation is OMNet++ [6]. From the investigation, the mobility affects the performance of the network. The movement of nodes in the network will result in increasing the number of overhead and the energy consumption in the network.
