The Diet Manager app addresses issues in existing apps, such as lack of motivation and user disinterest, hence, the aim of the thesis is the implementation of better diet calories counting features with providing by implementing timelapse pictures of user progress and a streak system to reward consistency.This project aims to develop an Android app tailored for individuals with weight concerns, incorporating several sub-objectives: a diet management module, weight tracking tool, summary report system, reminder tool, timelapse feature, and streak system. The Phased Development methodology was used, adhering to the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for planning, analysis, design, implementation, and testing.The Diet Manager app provides a comprehensive solution for self-monitoring, diet tracking, and motivation enhancement, encouraging users to adopt and maintain a healthier lifestyle. Future improvements could include custom food item addition, personalized dietary recommendations, activity monitoring, and broader platform compatibility, enhancing user experience and increasing the app's utility in the health and wellness sector.
