Description
Summary:The project focused on the development of an online appointment and patient health tracking system for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in Malaysia. After conducting research and analysis, the current TCM system had made efforts to provide some basic online services for patients, however, there were still some services that required consumers to visit a brick-and-mortar TCM clinic to enjoy the service. In addition, the current TCM system also had shortcomings. The system fell short of customer expectations, the management of medical records was time-consuming, and there was a lack of clear and credible TCM information data for clinical parties to view and track patient medical records. To solve the mentioned issue, several features and functions were developed and implemented into the proposed system. The proposed TCM system would meet or exceed client expectations by providing TCM services through online and accessible anytime and anywhere. Besides, the system would implement an easy-to-manage record function, allowing users to easily store and manage database records. To provide high credibility, clear and credible TCM information data would be displayed so that Chinese medicine practitioners (CMPs) could analyze medical records and patients could track their medical records. The main functions of the TCM system were appointment booking, patient health tracking, leave management, and database management. On top of that, the system would provide users with more comprehensive services by implementing additional functions such as real-time chat and reminders. Besides, the medical records would be stored into the system, allowing users to easily access the data. The methodology used in this project was a prototyping model to obtain the desired result. The prototyping model was a system development methodology in which prototypes were built, evaluated, and refined until an appropriate prototype was accomplished. Finally, the proposed system was tested by volunteers for feedback and comments on functionality, user interface, and other related areas of improvement. If any technical problems were discovered, the system would be resolved as well.
